There’s no denying that the item on the top of everyone’s wishlist this year is the Apple iPad 2!

For those who aren’t too sure what all the fuss is about – what is so good about the iPad 2?

Well where do we begin? First up the iPad 2 has forward facing and rear cameras (perfect for facetime); it also has a better process than the original iPad and it’s smaller now too. It also has a groovy new magnetic cover.

Sure there are other computer tablets that can do all the stuff that an iPad 2 can do, but let’s face it, none of them are quite as cool or as smooth and easy to use.

So if you are looking for a gift idea for a brother, sister, heck even your grandparents, then the Apple iPad 2 would have to be at the top of the wishlist.

Kris Kringle Gift Ideas

It’s less than a month until Santa comes to deliver all his gifts, but if you haven’t done your shopping yet (like us) then don’t stress because there are still plenty of shopping days left, and worse case scenario you can go for a mad dash for presents on Xmas Eve (not that we would recommend that).

The first of our presents to buy this year is the work “Kris Kringle” gift, or “Secret Santa” depending on where you’re from.

Kris Kringle don’t need to be anything fancy, just a little gesture to show you care. Normally you don’t want to spend more than $10-$20. So what can you possibly buy when you don’t have much to spend?

If your Kris Kringle is for a female than it’s easy – simply go for jewellery, body pampering products (ie Bodyshop), or some kind of cute fashion accessory. To help you decide think about the jewellery and accessories you normally see this person in and base you decision on that.

If you don’t think you’re Kris Kringle is much of a girly girl then other options that always work a treat are books, alcohol or DVDs.

For the guys it is best to keep it simple. Alcohol, books and DVDs will also work and they will also appreciate gift certificates. Consider a gift certificate for the movies, an iTunes voucher or an electronics store.

At the end of the day if you know a little bit about the person you can base your gift on this, but if you don’t know them that well than the above Kris Kringle gift ideas will work a treat.

3. Apple iPod Nano

Now don’t be fooled by the size of these because they can still pack a punch. While these might not be quite as cool as the iPod Touch they are much easier to carry around. If the gift recipient is after something they can take to the gym with them and that comes in pretty colors too, then this is the gift for them.

4. Coby MP3 Player

If you’re after an mp3 player without the hefty price tag than go for the Coby. While it may not look as funky or be as fancy as some of the other mp3s it still does the job. It holds a fair amount of music and has good sound quality. The Coby is very good product at a very low price (currently only $40 from Amazon.com).

5. Archos Internet Media Tablet

Now this isn’t just any old mp3 player, this is more like a media centre at your fingertips. Take it wherever you go and you can watch movies on its wide screen, get WiFi access and a whole heap of other cool things you didn’t even know you needed. I may have said the iPod was the best for mp3s but this is a whole lot more.

6. Zune Video MP3 Player

Apple’s biggest competitor is Microsoft’s Zune. This has all the cool features you want in an mp3 player plus it has exclusive Zune radio channels, wireless sharing, access to videos, movies and is compatible with the Xbox 360. It also has a heap of other features that you’ll need to check out too. This is no doubt a wishlist item.

7. Sony Walkman Video MP3 Player

If you’re giving your mp3 player to someone who’s after something a little easier to use then go for the Sony Walkman. It has great sound quality, is slim and holds a long battery life, it just doesn’t have some of the bonus features that comes with your fancier mp3 players. A great gift though none the less.

8. Creative Labs Zen MX MP3 Player

This mp3 player comes with all the features you’ll need: sounds quality, battery life and a range of formats. It also comes with an SD card that makes it easy to transfer your music around. A great mp3 player with all the features and not as pricey as some of the other models.

9. Apple iPod Shuffle

Sometimes all you need is some music. The iPod Shuffle might not have any other features but it has all you need and that is some pumping beats. This is great if you just want to carry something light (this is super tiny) but beware it can get a little annoying if you can’t find the song you want to hear.

10. Mozaic LX

This mp3 player makes the list because it is so cheap and it looks quite pretty too. This would make a great gift for a little girl or for when you just want a little stocking filler but it is not as good as some of the other mp3s around.

The most obvious gift idea for the business executive is items that they can use around the office. Some great gifts are pens, personalized business card holders, desk calendars and items they can use for travelling such as a sleek leather briefcase, laptop bag, or a travel alarm clock or USB key. A couple of other cool gifts to get might be a new leather organizer or a book that will inspire them in their profession.

Business executives also need to look good, as selling themselves is an important aspect of their job. So why not gift them some shiny new cuff links or a new set of neck ties and business shirts? Gift Hamper Ideas

When you want to congratulate somebody for a special occasion a good idea is to get them a gift hamper. There are a number of gift hampers available online or from gift shops and it is important that you choose the right type depending on the occasion or event or with these ideas you can simply put one together yourself.

Weddings Hampers: For a wedding gift hamper you want it to be romantic. A bottle of champagne inside is a good place to start as the couple can open it to celebrate their new life together. You can also include a couple of champagne flutes. Then you can think of a specific food theme for example breakfast, dessert or Italian just to name a few. If you were choosing the breakfast theme you could include some gourmet teas and coffees, syrups, jams, muesli and maybe a nice serving plate or some nice napkins. Also if you have their wedding invitation or are sending this after the wedding you can decorate the basket with the wedding colors (because you know they like them right?)

Corporate Hampers: For a corporate hamper keep it simple and clean and try and include the company logo on the hamper somewhere. Generally you’ll probably include items like a bottle of wine/liqueur, stationary, a calendar and some gourmet nibbles.

Baby Gift Hampers: I find these the cutest of the hamper types. Make sure you make these colorful and fun. Normally they come with nappies, baby lotions (and maybe some for mummy too), baby food, jumpsuits, little baby socks and maybe a rattle or some type of plush toy as well. These are really fun to make and baby stuff is pretty cheap too. So these would be a great gift for a baby shower or new born.

All the rest: Most gift hampers are pretty similar and can be used for other occasions ranging from a birthday to a job promotion to a new house. Whilst the above are more specific the main formula stays the same really. You want a nice drop of something either a wine or a liqueur (or beer if its a male gift). Also you want some gourmet nibbles such as some nice chocolates or dips and breads or cheeses and syrups (preferably something that will preserve for awhile) and you maybe you want some kind of dinnerware (for housewarming gift) or some pampering products (for a female) or maybe a cuddly teddy bear if its a get well gift. That’s it really then put all your goodies in a nice basket, fill it and wrap it with some cellophane or paper or whatever other pretty things you find. Finish with some ribbon and voila you’ve got yourself a gift hamper.
