Geeks are the new quarterbacks and so now when we buy them presents we want to impress them with our geeky prowess.

But if when you are not a geek yourself it can be hard to know what to get them (for instance a book of sudoku puzzles probably won’t impress the modern geek)!

Little Girls Gift Ideas

The first thing to remember when buying a gift for a little girl is that all of them like to be treated like a princess. This means that what they want is anything pretty, anything pink and they will love anything that they can dress up in or play pretend.

So what is the first item that little girls want? It is of course a Barbie doll. Barbie has cool clothes, she is multi talented I mean who isn’t a fan of Barbie. There are heaps of Barbies around to suit your taste or budget and even lots of accessories too if you can’t decide which doll to choose. Bratz are popular dolls too now but I think Barbie sends a bit more of a wholesome message to young girls.

There are many other great dolls and toys as well. Cabbage Patch Dolls are still popular as are Polly Pockets or anything Disney related.

Little girls also love to play dress ups. Whether its a princess costume or some new jewelry little girls will be sure to get excited. You can get some cute little jewelry sets for young girls and anything that sparkles is a bonus. You can get her rings, bangles, necklaces or earrings. Jewelry boxes will also be treasured as will a vanity set with a mirror and hair brush or a children’s make-up kit so that she can pretend to be a grown up for a day.

Little girls are often also into arts and crafts. So getting an easel and some paints might be a nice idea or even getting a bead set so she can make her own jewelry creations. Playdough sets are also heaps of fun for little girls as are any craft kits or coloring-in books.

Getting a little girl some music to sing along to or her favourite TV show is another option. Dora the Explorer is a favourite show among young girls at the moment, as is Hannah Montana or High School Musical.

Any of the above gifts are sure to be a hit. Gift Ideas 2 Year Old

When trying to think of a gift idea for a 2 year old it is a good idea to think of the interests of the parents because this will help you to ascertain what the child would be curious about and what they would want to play with. Young kids always seem to be wanting to do what they see their parents doing. For example a child with artistic parents would probably want to stomp around in paint all day so some kind of art supplies would probably be best for them such as crayons, paints, an easel or even a coloring book (just make sure you get non-toxic stuff and make it washable too).

For a child that has parents that enjoy cooking how about a play set of foods and plastic pans so that the child can pretend to be Jamie Oliver for a day until they can cook in a real kitchen. Or perhaps they’re parents are more into hosting dinner parties, so maybe for little 2 yr old girls a gift of a play tea set or dinner setting would be appropriate. For those children who have designer parents or their parents are builders they might enjoy some building blocks (just make sure they are big enough so as not to be choked on). A bucket and spade for building sand castles at the beach is another idea.

Many young children also enjoy puzzles and games which are available for those with a young developing mind. You can also get baby computers and software or PC accessories so they can pretend to use a real computer, if you want to introduce the baby to the computer world at an early age.

Hopefully this has helped and make sure to make the wrapping pretty and colorful too, this will actually help the child like the gift more, just don’t be disheartened if the child ends up playing with the boxes and wrapping paper more than the present.

I think that when it comes to gift ideas for 5 year olds there is one thing that they will always want – toys. No matter how many toys they have they will want more and this goes for boys and girls. So what toy do you get them? Check out the top toys on amazon.com or ask a sales assistant at your local toy store and if the 5 year old in question does not have one of these top toys I have no doubt that they will want them. Also amazon.com allows you to specifically select age ranges, gender and price ranges to make your gift searching even easier.

Another option is buying new clothes. Kids always need more of these as they are constantly growing anyway and they will no doubt be particularly loved if they are for a little girl and they are pretty and pink. If you’re having trouble picking these then again ask the sales assistant or check out the top sellers on clothing sites. Oh and little girls especially also love to play dress ups so they would love costumes as well.

If your child already has everything they could ever want then how about taking them out for a special day trip. I have yet to meet a child that doesn’t want to visit a theme park every other weekend, and if you take them to one of these you can let them pick out a souvenir on the day too. If a you haven’t got a theme park near you, take them out to the movies to see the latest Pixar animation or any other popular children’s movie.

Overall remember they are 5 years old so you don’t need to go overboard with their present (unless you want to of course), they’ll be happy as long as they’re loved and having fun on their special day.
